Cottonwood Cove Shore entry Novice 35°29.211 N

  Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina is located on the Colorado River and is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area administered by the National Park Service. There is a fee for entry into the park. There is a marina, convenience store, a cafe and public restrooms available just feet from the dive site.
Markers - None.
Details - The designated swim and dive area is roped off with buoy lines. The line running north and south (320° - 140°) goes from the shore on the south side and connects with a line running east and west on the north end. The line running east and west connects to the shore on the west side. The platform is just north of the 3rd large buoy from the left as looking from shore at the north/south line. The beach area is sand and extends into the water to a depth of about 10 feet. Beyond that, there is a ridge that drops sharply to 15 feet. During the summer, the grass will grow in the deeper end but there are some areas with no grass. The water temperature will be as low as 54° in the winter and as high as 84° in the summer.
Marine Life - Catfish, perch, striped bass.
